It has been a long road. A Good Road, challenging at times however very rewarding. I am blessed to have a good support system, loving family and friends. From the time I was a child, I worked in my family’s printing business for nearly 45 years. Lord knows the family always had to keep an eye on me as I was a very inquisitive child, running, getting dirty, dancing while I worked, (being Puerto Rican – we always danced.) The family all worked hard as a team and celebrated together after work, exhausted but happy.

Yet, many times I would be penalized for sitting still staring into the abyss. What could I say, how could I explain that as an eight-year-old, I was so concerned about the challenges people faced from all over the world. As I grew, I knew I wanted to be more of a provider of assistance to others. However, Life moved on, I married a great guy and had a great son, who grew to be a compassionate doctor and amazing human being. He married a beautiful, loving, and intelligent woman and has a super smart, beautiful daughter.

At 58, I changed my career, continued my education, and graduated a few years later; 1100 hours Certified Yoga Therapist. I was not easy changing, leaving a family business, setting boundaries, self-care, learning to love and provide support to myself, understanding my shortcomings, realizing the traumas I had and now face and of course, embracing change.

It is still a challenge, but worth it.
